Luxor Travels · Luxor
A private Egyptologist plans your Valley of the Kings visit around Tutankhamun's tomb, KV62, with Ramesses III, Merenptah and Ramesses IV, then Hatshepsut's temple and Queen Titi's tomb. Pick it if seeing the boy king's mummy in his own tomb is the point of your trip.

Luxor Travels runs a private West Bank morning with a clear plan in the Valley of the Kings: Tutankhamun (20 minutes), Ramesses III, Merenptah and Ramesses IV (25 minutes each). Then Hatshepsut's temple (1 hour), the Colossi of Memnon, and the Valley of the Queens with the tomb of Queen Titi. You pass the tomb of Ramesses IX. Pickup is at 8 am from a list of central hotels, and the whole thing takes about 5 hours.
The $65 covers the car, the guide and pickup. The listing is plain about it: excluding entrance tickets. At the official prices that is EGP 750 for the Valley of the Kings (the official Valley of the Kings page), EGP 700 for Tutankhamun and EGP 440 for Hatshepsut (the Ministry price list): EGP 1,890 per foreign adult, about $36, before the Valley of the Queens. The overview still mentions Nefertari's tomb; it has been closed in March 2024 to monitor humidity and is not on the itinerary.
Guests rate the guides highly, several of them working Egyptologists. Guides are not allowed into the tombs, so the briefing happens outside. Expect an alabaster workshop, and in one guest's case a perfume oils house as well. Bookings need at least two adults.
From one of the listed central hotels on either bank. Your guide meets you in reception.
Buy the general ticket and the Tutankhamun ticket at the office, then KV62, Ramesses III, Merenptah and Ramesses IV.

A photo stop on the road back down.
Queen Titi's tomb, small and brightly painted. Back at your hotel by early afternoon.
★★★★★As a suggestion, please stock up on a bunch of smaller bills to tip the workers in each tomb, they help make the experience much more fun and impactful since they are the ones helping to point out interesting parts of each tomb(guides are not allowed to enter the tombs with you).
★★★★★Seeing King Tutankhamen in his tomb - by ourselves - was awe inspiring.
★★★★★We took our time at the valley of the kings and weren’t rushed which I appreciated. [...] Other highlights include Hatshepsut temple, visiting an alabaster workshop and a perfume oils house.
★★★★★Abdul met us in the reception of our hotel and had a large comfortable van waiting for us. He was very knowledgeable and provided us with excellent information and history of all the sites we visited.
