Reflections Travel · Luxor
A private Egyptologist takes you through the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple in the morning, then across the Nile for lunch, Karnak and Luxor Temple. Pick it if you have one day in Luxor and want everything, with the tickets and lunch already paid.

Same operator as the West Bank day tour, different idea: both banks in one go. You choose a 7 am or 8 am start, and the plan runs the Valley of the Kings (2 hours), Hatshepsut's temple (1 hour), the Colossi of Memnon (20 minutes) and the Valley of the Queens (1 hour). After a buffet lunch you cross to the East Bank for Karnak (2 hours) and Luxor Temple (1 hour), and get back at 4 or 5 pm.
For $110 the list is generous: private car and guide, lunch, water and the entry tickets for every paid stop. Karnak alone is EGP 600 at Karnak for a foreign adult, and Hatshepsut plus the Valley of the Kings come to EGP 1,190 (the Ministry price list and the official Valley of the Kings page). The usual exceptions apply: three tombs on the valley ticket, extra tickets for Tutankhamun or Seti I, and drinks and tips on you.
It is a lot for one day, and it's hot. Guests suggest starting earlier than booked, and a few guides hand you the Luxor Temple ticket to use in the evening, when it's lit up and cooler. That is the better way to see it. Expect about 8 hours of walking and stairs, and an alabaster shop somewhere in the middle.
From your hotel or ship. Pick 7 am; the guide may even suggest earlier in summer.
Three tombs on the included ticket. Buy Tutankhamun or Seti I at the office if you want them.
The terraced temple at Deir el-Bahari, then a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon.
Smaller, quieter tombs with bright painted walls.
A buffet at a local restaurant after crossing the Nile.
The hypostyle hall at Karnak, then Luxor Temple, or keep that ticket for the evening. Drop-off at 4 or 5 pm.
★★★★★We spent approximately 8 hours together, so plan for a day full of walking! Bring some extra water, a hat and comfortable/breathable clothes, and shoes. With the help of our guide, we always beat the large tour bus crowds and had a personalized experience.
★★★★★He also recommended that we visit Luxor Temple at night, which was an excellent suggestion. He provided the ticket included in our tour package, and we absolutely loved seeing Luxor Temple beautifully illuminated after dark.
★★★★★When your tour guide suggests early pickup (6-7am) listen, he knows best cause after 11 am, heat can kill (we had 118 degrees June 7th) but made it through thanks to Khaled.
★★★★★The day was hot and there was a fair amount of walking and stairs, sometimes fairly steep. The tombs were incredible to see but for us, the most amazing part was the temple at Karnak.
